This play was short-listed for the Silver Gull Award 2021 (New Theatre, Newtown). At the Awards Night, it had a short script-in-hand reading directed by Mark G Nagle with Deng Deng, Sonya Kerr & Oghenero Francis Owofa bringing life and humour to the script. Thanks all and thanks to New theatre esp. Helen Tonkin & Louise Fischer. Thanks too, to Chinedu Udu, for giving me his remarkable insight into Nigerian politics, history and society. Still tweaking this script and still many titles floating around in my head: Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin (too obscure?); Potiphar’s Wife (too biblical?), When it Snows (dull?), Black on White (hmmmm…sounds like an art installation?), Norway and Nigeria (like the alliteration but..?), Black and Black (is that a law firm?)…
