I’m an Australian writer. Not to be confused with Wendy ‘the Knife Coach’ Lewis, aesthetics consultant from New York; Wendy Lewis from Blackpool, considered by some to be the ‘most disgusting woman’ in Britain or Wendy Lewis aka Mrs Texas 1994.
I write adult non-fiction specialising in history, biography and crime. I’m also devising a TV comedy with writer/director Jane Eakin based on my best-selling book See Australia and Die. My twelfth book, Please forgive us, Richard Hauptmann, was released in 2020.
I also write for stage with a focus on musical theatre and absurdist comedy. Recent productions include The Devil’s Caress, Star of the Sea, Manly and Do Not Touch, Director’s Cut Micro Theatre, Newcastle. Latest musical theatre projects are Lost in Translation (music by Yuval Halpern) and the dark comedy Defeating Roger Federer (book, music and lyrics) which managed to squeeze in its world premiere in Sydney in February 2020 pre-Covid.
